Luke 10:27 (ESV)
He answered, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”
Talk About It
In today’s verse, Jesus tells us what matters most. He says the most important thing is to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. That means caring about God more than anything and letting Him be part of every area of our lives, not just Sundays or easy times. But Jesus also says to love our neighbors as much as we love ourselves. That means caring for everyone God puts around us—not just our family or friends. Sometimes, loving others is hard, and we all make mistakes. We can’t do this perfectly by ourselves. That’s why God sent Jesus, so we could know Him and have the Holy Spirit help us. When we love God, it shows in the way we treat others. This week, is there a way you could show extra love to God or to someone else?
For Parents to Explain
Dear God, help us love You with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength. Teach us to love others as You love us. Amen.
